After a week of pestering and badgering, I was able to get my handlers to share some pictures with me from last week. Let me tell you about it…
We made the trip to the next town over for a local Touch a Truck event. I know what your first thought is and let me confirm it for you; parking was indeed crazy. However, we persevered and emerged with not only a parking spot, but a pretty good one too.
We didn’t stop at the ice cream truck. Yeah, you’re right, I don’t know what they were thinking, but we skipped right over it!
Okay, that’s the important stuff out of the way, what else did we do? Well, we touched trucks you big silly! Also thrown into the mix were tractors, mowers and things like that. Sit right back and I’ll tell you a tale of a [ed. not so] fateful trip. But don’t worry, it wasn’t a three hour tour!
Here’s a picture of the fire truck with the flag. They weren’t letting people go up the ladder.
You could, however, go in the truck. Here’s me trying on some of the equipment.
The ambulance was up for grabs too. I walked through the back and came out the front.
Since we’re on emergency vehicles, I took a moment to jump in to a police car. Chevy Tahoe PPV package. One of the other kids managed to turn on the siren and made everybody scramble to turn it off.
There were some pieces of construction equipment there as well. The obligatory loader was there.
Sure looks like I know what I’m doing.
One of the other highlights was the “Mower Ahead” tractor that trims the roadside grass. This one was easy to figure out as well.
And since mowers are the bee’s knees, I had to try a few of them out. This one was cool.
On the way out we had to check out the little dump truck. I mean it is called Touch a Truck after all.
So there you have it, the highlights of the event. Everybody had a good time despite the heat and the crowds of people. We also didn’t hang around too long since there was another event moving in for the afternoon.
