COVID-19 and Distance Learning

Wow, it sure has been a long time since I’ve come by here to tell tales and stores or update with news and events. Since this past December, both Mommy’s and Daddy’s birthdays have pasted. We’ve had Valentine’s Day. The clocks have changed again. But now we’re going into second week of what the school districts are calling Distance Learning.

Distance Learning? Yup, that’s what they’re calling it. Because of this COVID-19 virus that’s been going around, everybody is nervous about contracting the virus and spreading it around to other people. Pretty much all of the school districts all over have gone to a distance learning system. They’re making sure to stress the fact that the schools are not actually closed, even though popular terminology refers to things that way. So what’s the difference? Think of it like home schooling but materials are being provided by the school and your regular teachers. Today I’m starting my second week of this (we started Tuesday last week.) It’s been a bit of change for us, but Mom is doing a darn fine job with it and making it work while still trying to do her regular job.

So far there’s no end given for this project, but here’s hoping it’s not too much longer.
