It’s My Party and I’ll Cry if I Want to

Ha ha, fooled you! The title may be a bit deceiving, but it sounded good at the time. In case you were worried, I was good pretty much all day.

Just a few days ago, I had the pleasure to participate in the ceremony for my Rite of Baptism. Well, my participation was pretty much mandatory but I still enjoyed being the center of attention, even cracking a smile when I got the water. We had a nice little ceremony at St. Mark’s Church that went pretty well, considering the biggest problem we had was starting late. Even the parade of pictures at the end wasn’t overwhelming.

Afterwards, lunch was held at Nana and Grandpa’s house. I think everybody who came to the church came back to the house at least for a little while. There was a nice assortment of hors d’oeuvres (what a silly word is that!) followed by a wonderful lunch prepared by the Prickly Pear restaurant. To top it all off, there was even a dessert bar including things like ice cream sundaes and fresh s’mores made over a real fire.

I’m not going to recount the entire guest list because of its length, but I would like to say thank you and extend my gratitude to everyone who came. We had a good time seeing everyone, both regulars and the holiday people. Everyone seemed to play nice with each other, children and adults alike.

I also need to say thank you again to everybody for all the nice gifts that they gave me. I received some nice toys for now and, depending on who you talk to, either the start to my college fund or the start of the payment for my first car. Whichever way it goes, it is in good hands with Mommy until I’m ready to use it.

P.S. Miss Paige, I have your bracelet and will make sure to get it back to you in the near future.
